Friday Five

Friday Five

Yeah… I know today is Sunday, but it is summer, and it appears that keeping track of the days is a little harder than I anticipated. So, here’s your Friday Five on Sunday!

The Handmaid's Tale

Anyone else watching this? I just finished watching this season yesterday (Thursday), and I can’t get over it! If you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend you view it. To be honest, I prefer season one to season two. I recently read this Buzzfeed article about what season two got wrong, and I wholeheartedly agree. I was both surprised and not surprised in the slightest about the ending of this season. I don’t want to give away any spoilers here, but comment with your thoughts on the season below!

Evening Rain

This past week the days have been sunny and the evenings have been rainy. I think there is nothing more calming and peaceful than listening to the rain as you drift off to sleep. Seriously, what could be more relaxing?

Sun Praire

As I was scrolling through my Facebook feed this week, I was shocked to see a gas explosion in the city I used to call home. I lived in Sun Prairie right before moving to Poland, and it still holds a special place in my heart. I was so saddened to see the gas explosion level the beautiful downtown of Sun Prairie. I was also sad to hear of the death of a Firefighter during the fire. It can be hard to see such horrific things happen in your old backyard, and it can feel a bit helpless to be so far away. Click on the picture above to get more information. I’m blocked from seeing a lot of sites because I’m over here!

It's World Cup

I love World Cup! This year has been no exception. The matches have been fabulous to watch, and it is so exciting to watch them in a city that cares about World Cup. Like, Americans, most of you do not understand World Cup. Here, they get it. Although Poland didn’t do so hot and was eliminated quickly, we’re still watching the games and seeing amazing soccer being played.

Dreaming of Waffles

I have seriously been dreaming of these delicious waffles from Belgium. In fact, I want them so much that I might have to return to Brussels this summer to get some. These Liege waffles are to die for. My favorite hands down. Look at how fluffy that waffle is! It is also so sugary but not too sugary!! Maybe I need to get myself a waffle maker and learn how to make them. I don’t know. Perhaps I have to start hunting down waffles like I do churros. Exhibit A and B. I just want to taste this delicious treat again. In case you missed my waffle post, check it out
