Here’s to another month! Can you believe that there are only 2 more months left in 2017? I feel like this year has gone by so quickly!
Mantra
Expect nothing and appreciate everything.
If you’ve read my past few monthly lists you know that I was struggling to find a mantra that really suited me. I had used the mantra I am fulfilled. I am fearless but I felt I needed a new mantra. I searched and searched and nothing felt right to me.
This month I finally found a mantra that has been working out! Expect nothing and appreciate everything. This mantra has been so helpful in my life. Sometimes we can get caught up with expectations that are through the roof. When we don’t have realistic expectations we can’t appreciate what is happening. I want to appreciate more joy and so I expect nothing and appreciate everything. World changing!

I followed Sabina earlier this year and I absolutely love her account. If you are a travel lover, you need to follow her. She takes such beautiful photos and inspires me to travel the world. She also inspires me to take better travel photos. Click here to check out her instagram.
Daily Otters @daily_Otters
Listen, I just love sea otters. They are so adorable. They are so smart. I just can’t handle all of their cuteness! While I’m scrolling through my instagram feed I just need to see some little otter faces BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO ADORABLE!! Click here to add the simplest of joys to your life. FYI I am currently sitting on the couch laughing to myself about how much I love otters!
TEDTalks @TEDTALKS
Recently I have been on a TEDTalk kick. The last week of October I have watched at least 5 TEDTalks a day. I really just love listening to well educated, passionate people share out their ideas with the world. I follow TEDTalks on twitter to keep up with the latest and greatest ideas being shared into the world. Click here to check them out!
Tiny Buddha @tinybuddha
If you’re an avid reader of this blog then it should be no surprise to you that I love wisdom and I love quotes. Tiny Buddha is where these two things come together. Click here to check it out. Tiny Buddha spreads beautiful words of encouragement, dreams, and inspiration throughout my Twitter feed.
Book
The Boy of the Wooden Box
Last month I read through this book faster than most. I just could not put it down. I think in part because it is a true story that takes place during the Holocaust and partly because it is set in Krakow. This story was written by Leon Leyson the young boy who was saved from being killed in concentration camps by Oskar Schindler. He was the youngest name on the list. This book shows the true horrors that took place during the Holocaust from a young boy’s point of view. I cried harder than ever while reading this story but I feel it is one that everyone should read. I have already forced it onto people around me. Click here to purchase this story on Amazon.
TV Shows and Movies
This Is Us
So, I know that this was also on The September List but I am all caught up now. OH MY GOSH! The more I watch it the more I love it. How could you not? Seriously. I just want to be a member of the Pearson family. I think that is what makes this show so wonderful. The Pearson family contains little truths from all families and the show is so darn relatable that you just have to keep watching. I bought my season pass for season 2 on iTunes and am so excited to get to keep up with this show as it goes on.
Song
Closer -The Chainsmokers
Gosh I just love this song! I just really love the Chainsmokers. My sister says that they are pretty big in the US, I don’t know. What I do know is that I love this song and I make sure to listen to it everyday when I am walking home from school.
Podcast
Up and Vanished
Another repeat from The September List but it is necessary. Now, I don’t want to spoil it for any future listeners but I just got to the part where they made an arrest! What?! This cold case is getting solved! Each and every morning I listen to the podcast and put on my detective hat on my walk to the car. You must listen!

Place I Visited
Warsaw
Now that summer vacation is over and I am back to the grind of work I’m not traveling to as many places as I was before. So… Warsaw was my favorite place!
I really did love Warsaw. I liked the big city vibes. I loved the gardens of the palace we went to. Click here to read all about Warsaw. At the end of the day though, I really enjoy Krakow a lot more.
Moment
Hearing the Words "You've Been Upgraded"

Now, I know that this is honestly all I talk about but I can’t get over it. Stuff like this just doesn’t happen to me ever! So having it happen in Warsaw was pretty darn exciting. I know I am destined to live a life much fancier than the one I live now but my budget just does not agree. Until this magical time comes I guess I will just have to make the most of all the fancy upgrades I get.

If You've Done Any of These Things It Counts as Harassment
We’re not ending the October List on a light note and that is due to some events that have come to light this month. I am such a fan of the #metoo movement bringing harassment out into the light but there is still a long way to go to get to the right place.
Just yesterday some man was yelling things at me as I walked down the street. Click here to read this wonderful article from Buzzfeed. This is a checklist of a variety of things people might not believe are harassment but they are.
